This home of palatial proportions was sensitively refurbished to bring it up to modern day living standards, it follows our design ethos which is to create a timeless elegance with expertly crafted materials. Illuminated by a thoughtfully designed lighting scheme, the spaces create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The heart of the home features a fully bespoke kitchen to combine practicality with style, ensuring a truly unique space. The triple height hallway welcomes you into the home which then leads onto an opulent dining room overlooking the gardens, the formal living space is flooded with natural daylight whilst at night the room feels snug and comfortable. The study and games room are fun and full of personality. The master suite feels traditional and adds a boutique hotel element to the house, whilst the connecting spaces such as the grand hallway and landing tie the various interior design styles together with a well-considered narrative.
We set about redesigning this family home set within one of Surrey’s most prestigious gated estates, with a strong brief which was to create a classic contemporary aesthetic that is both playful and functional. Whilst not forgetting budget, we focused on the fixtures, fittings, and equipment by using a soft palette of warm tones, textures, bespoke joinery, panelling throughout, plasterwork cornicing, handcrafted marble stone finishes, hand embroidered wallpapers, subtle fabrics, layers of lighting to suit each space and décor to symbolise the unique feel of each room.
The husband-and-wife team have two growing teenage boys who all lead live busy lives, are sport fanatics and love to entertain, they wanted it to feel fresh and inviting, intimate, warm, and light. Having already designed the gardens, the couple were keen to bring the outside in and vice versa. The existing shell was dated, the interior was oppressive, the vast spaces lacked a cohesive feel, dark mahogany joinery dominated the property, and the disproportionate windows and doors created several issues which needed to be solved.
Much like our gardens, we want our Interiors to be a truly unique experience and a reflection of our client’s taste. We don’t believe in rules, but gentle harmony. Each space needs to work alongside the other whilst also providing its own unique aesthetic and feel. During this refurbishment, we used an eclectic mixture of furniture styles, fabrics, layers of lighting, wall finishes, window treatments, furnishings, artwork, accessories, and rugs to add personality to each space. The wife would happily live in sprawling country estate filled with antiques, traditional florals prints, neutrals tones and historic architectural character whilst the husband needed to stay within a commuter belt and enjoys opulence which is why we’ve combined elements of both styles.
The clients understand our approach to interior design, which is to offer a high-end, highly personalised, and well considered interior that encapsulates the client’s aspirations. Throughout this transformation, meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail were implemented in every corner of the house, unique to our clients, yet sensitive to the architecture.
